I bought 5 chevrolet moon hub caps and soon found out that 2 of the wheels did not have clips to attach the moons. I purchased some and for the life of me can't get the moons to catch on to the clips. Can some one who has done this project give some advice?

I think just about everyone goes through this because there must be a hundred different wheels that fit these trucks but only a couple have the correct clips.

Try measuring the ones that work and compare them to the ones that don't. Chances are you clips are too far recessed. I sidestepped the whole issue when I put disk brakes on mine and put a set of Smoothies from Wheelsmith on mine. They sell hubcaps that match the stock design.

Good luck.

i had to space my clips higher so my dishes would fit. i think i used #10 or #12 machine screws (by x length) to do mine and a 1/4''i.d. (or smaller) steel pipe as the spacer. wink extra clips are about $1.25 ea. at any of the AD supply catalogues. i bought 24.
