One of my trucks (not a bolt, in case that matters) has 17.5 tubeless tires on it, while the identical parts truck has 16 inch tires. Is this the same scenario as above?
Are these 17.5's hard to come by? I'm just curious, as I may need to replace a couple, and I was not aware that this size even existed until I got this truck. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | Correct, the 17.5" tires are the tubeless equivalent to 16" tires.
New 17.5" tires are out there, but can be hard to find and expensive.
I did sell a set of seven 17.5" wheels from a 61 ford I had to someone who wanted to go tubeless even considering buying the rims from me, shipping to AZ, and finding the expensive tires, I even had a few other folks waiting in line if the first guy did not take them.
Personally I would not buy or mess with 17.5" tires, but I also have not been in a situation where that was my only tubeless option...

This truck happens to be a '59 F-350. I'll keep this info in mind if I have to go tire shopping. If necessary, I'll just go back to 16", since I have a complete set of rims on my parts truck. I have 235/85R16" tires and they are only 1" shorter in overall height than the 7.00x17" originals on my '51 3800.
