I am having to replace almost all of my stock steering on a 54 chevy 1/2 ton. All of the ball joint are bad so I want to replace them with newer better ball joints. Does anyone know where to get good steering components? I have a good axle and king pins and spindles I amm going to need everything else. thanks

Hy bolted 54, if you are reffering to your tie rod ends and drag link, Jim Carter lists them
tierod end p/n ME347L - $39.50

Sorry bolted from my end ..im runnin IDFS far from stock an have never messed with the original suspension.

I would use ifs too if it was already on there but I am hard headed and like the vintage feel of the road-but thanks

To my way of thinking, there is aboslutely no reason to "improve" the front suspension of an AD truck. The design is exactly what can be found on any highway truck tractor sold today. That ought to tell you something: These are trucks. Designed to work by carrying loads. The front suspension and steering design has not changed fundamentally in more then half a century. That ought to tell you everything you need to know about "improving" your front end.

Shop Jim Carter or wherever you find replacement parts, and keep grease in 'em, and they will outlast you.
