My son and I are building a 64 Chevy C-10 for his 1st ride. We took it down to the frame and are on our way back up. We are going back w/ a 383 and a 400 turbo trans. Question is: We bought after market engine perches (tubular from CPP)and a trans X-member from CPP as well. I would have to cut out the original X-member that holds my e-brake to make all this work. What would I do with my e-brake afterwards? Is there another e-brake assy out there that might work? Thanks.

Look at the e-brake setup from a mid-80's Dodge pickup. The entire front cable assembly mounts along the driver's side frame rail, and if you use the whole system, cables to the backing plates and all, it should be pretty simple to adapt. The attachment inside the backing plates to the mechanical linkage is almost identical to the Chevy, if you've got Bendix brakes.

Sounds like something that would work. I was thinking I could come up with something that would go along that frame rail. I'll check out the 80's Dodges today. Thanks a ton for your input.
