Never done a Chevy oil pump before and don't have a manual of any type. Can I get to it without pulling the motor? :confused:

Pull the pan, loosen the set screw holding the shaft to the block, (you may have to rotate the flywheel to get access to the set screw.) Loosen the oil line, and it should drop right out. It's a dirty, messy job, but somebody's gotta do it! Don't forget to drain the oil first!  :p Steve | | |

Was there any problem getting the oil pan off? Or is there plenty of room above the crossmember? I don't know how far down I have to drop the oil pan to slide it out.
