I've replaced the balls cups and springs all new on my 46 1.5 ton drag link how tight do you tighten them. They are realy tight if the nut is screwed in far enought to get the cotter pin in place.

Provided all the replacment parts were the same dimension as the old ones, and the cups were installed properly, I think that screwing it in flush, or enough to get the pin in is right.

When it's assembled it needs to be real tight so as not to move or allow the spring to flex.

This is how I remember it.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'm just used to having old worn parts that the nut screwed in realy far and the new unworn parts just fit a lot tighter.
