I noticed my oak wood planks do not have the cross sill holes drilled out. Can anyone give me a procedure to do this right the first time? They need an offset counter sunk hole for the washer as well right? Oh, and I'm not even sure if they are the correct length or need to be trimmed. What is the length for a 55 short bed?

Thanks.
Michael

the only holes you need are for the mounting bolts thru to the frame, the ones with the washers, best you mark from underneath with your bed assembly loosely together .... and that countersink needs to be offset from the bolt hole if you have the correct washers .... the bolts thru the skids go between the boards .... measure the length with the sheet metal together, you don't want them a bit short, measure twice, cut once!

To add to what Red said . . .
To counter sink the off-set washer, use a Forsner Bit (Porter and Cable make them) and drill the bolt hole second. Or else the forsner bit will dance around your boards.
