i got just a basic complete gasket kit for my 350 maybe i'm being just to paronoid but is there a specific side that has to face up on these head gaskets? theres no directions in the kit that say anything about them being installed a particualar way but i'm just being a bit paranoid.

both head gaskets look the same on both sides and have no stamping in them that say "this side up" they just have a number stamped in on one side, the gaskets are nothing special just regualar old head gaskets that have the steel ring around each cyl. hole

thanks for your help
Nate

350 heads, and gaskets are completely interchangeable, side to side, and the gaskets can be turned upside down with no sealing problems. just do a straightedge check and make sure the heads aren't warped, and magnaflux them to check for cracks. 305 heads will bolt onto a 350, but the valves are too small, the ports aren't big enough, and the 58CC combustion chambers raise the compression too high for reliable running on regular gas. With premium fuel over 4 bucks a gallon and going up, compression gets to be a major consideration when building an engine!
