I HAVE AN AWFUL SMELL OF GAS IN MY CAB. THERE IS NO GAS LEAKING ONTO THE FLOOR OR UNDER THE TRUCK. I HAVE NOT REMOVED THE SEAT AT THIS POINT. I AM JUST WONDERING IF THERE IS A SOMETHING I SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR FIRST BEFORE I REMOVE THE TANK.
ALSO MY FLASHERS DON'T FLASH AND ALL THE LIGHTS WORK. WHERE IS THE FLASHER?

TPB,
Your gas fumes sound like you have dry rotted fill hose or overfill hose. The rubber hose between the outside fill pipe to the tank. Or the gasket on the sending unit may be cracked.

I'm not sure what to tell you about your flashers. The flasher should be under the dash around the steering column. I depends where the po installed it.
Good luck!

TPB- On mine the gasket on the sending unit was non-existant & the whole cab reeked.

My flashers are on the old after-market turn signal handle.

The flasher could be anywhere since whoever installed the turn signal had that option. Do a serch on turn signal wiring and then try to trace wires from there.

It seems that when the gas gets down a bit the smell in the cab stops. I don't know if that pinpoints the provlem any better.

It could still be the things that were mentioned. When the tank is full, the gas will splash up and leak around that bad gasket or fill hose. After the level goes down, the gas can no longer reach those areas, hence no more smell.
