It is under Chevy 1939 1/2 ton pickup. It has a front drop out with a solid back housing. It has 10 bolts that hold in the drop out also. It has the following numbers cast on the pumpkin. E207 3725889 or 3725899 GM
I am sure somebody knows and would greatly appreciate any info. It has 5 bolt wheel on it also if that helps.

Possibly an Olds or Pontiac or Buick as they look similar. The numbers might clear that up, but I don't have a reference readily available.
I once put a '57 Pontiac rear under a '41 Chevy pickup. My memory is that it was a very easy swap, but it was about 35 years ago... An acquaintance of mine has a '57 Chevy rear under his '41 Chevy pickup. That was an easy swap, done about the same time I did mine.

If it's an oval shape, then it would be the '55-'64 OldSub mentions. If it's round, then that would be Olds or Pontiac. If it is a Chevy, parts are relatively easy to get. I find 3rd members for them all the time, many with Posi. Also, 'Vette diffs up to '62 will swap in as well, opening up even more options for gearing/posi untis.
