I presently have only a single reservoir. Going to upgrade to the split system but don't have the time to hook up the plumbing befor a show.
can I run the single line alone? Block off the other cylinder, or will that cause pressure on the dead side and decrease the braking?

You are going to proportioning valve if you have disc brakes up front. The pedal will be real low & it would probably damage the cyl. You could run them both with a tee.

By blocking off one of the ports you create a dead end with no place for the pressure to go. Therefore, it would be logical that pressure would build up and you would not be able to apply any pressure to the brakes and you would not be able to stop......not good.  Roy
