Are all AD and TF 1/2 ton front hubs the same?

Are you interested in wheel/drum-hub-bearing information? I think that I have used Task Force front hubs (drum-hub-bearings) on my 1954 1/2 ton. It looks like at least the 51-57 hubs are the same part number(3694768)

I really I do not know, but maybe these front wheel bearing years might help you. If you are looking for other information, I'll delete this.

Thanks this is what I need. I should have checked some catalogs for the years of bearings. I did not think of that.

I tried an extra hub from my 55 2nd on the spindle that is on my 53 and it was too big. I do know that the front end/spindle is from an earlier model because it had Huck brakes. I would like to change over to bendix. That is what is on the rear of this truck.

I do not understand? Do I need to change the spindles and hubs?

Does anyone know if the spindles are different sizes in the ADs with huck brakes and the newer bendix brakes?

The hub and bearings are the same for 47 thru 59. This would tell me the spindles are the same as well; that is, as they relate to the bearings and hub.

I just bought the backing plates from Jimbo. All I need is one more hub to finish my front end switch to bendix.

This is even better information. I did not realize the hubs from my old hucks came free from the drums.

The article said to use these old hubs. Great.

Darn, just when I feel like things will move forward a wrench is thrown in the works.

Last night I went out to the shop. I shelf had fallen off the wall. The one with all my buckets of nails. And my air tools. And glass things. Poop.

After I cleaned that up. I got a spindle from the 55 2nd and a drum from the 'original' front end. The 'original' is something like a 50 that had the huck brake. I have not taken it apart like what is written earlier.

The hub from the 55 is long and the holding bolt does not go all the way on. The 'original' hub/drum is together and to take it apart will require all the studs be pressed out then there will be the hub, drum, and inner plate.

Question. If I either press the studs out with my vise or have them hydrolically pressed - do I put the inner plate on the hub before I press the studs back on? Will this work and the hub fit so I can change it over to Bendix brakes?

Anybody have the experience in doing this?
