| | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 9 | Ive got a question for my buddy whos got a 49 1/2 mounted on a 85 blazer frame, its kinda a custom swap. and hes got 31nch tires on it right now but with quite a bit room. were wondering if thier is a way to figure out what size tire he would be able to fit w/o rubbing or cutting the fenders, because hes got a chance to buy some 36" tires for real cheap but doesnt want them if they dont fit. It doesnt run so we cant run it over to a shop and swap the tire and check. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . (2.5" is the difference in radius of the two tires in question)
That should get him close, assuming same width and backspacing.
Grigg | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Be carefull putting big tires on a stock S10, 31's are about all that those axles are rated for. You may need to step up to a heavier axle and larger brakes if you use a larger tire.
