I have a '56 I'm putting a '57 grill and hood on. It was originally a stepside. Can you put Cameo beds on them and if so where can you get one? I like the opportunities to two tone better on the Cameo than the stepside unless somebody has some good examples of two toned stepsides.

there wasn't a Cameo bed as such, it was a step bed with fiberglas slab sidees instead of the external fenders .... also had an entirely different rear: tailgate, gate mechanism, multi-piece bumper, hidden spare compartment, tail lights .... you don't "get them", you scrounge parts where you can, or buy expensive repro'd bits to assemble on your step bed

Bill is right, you better really want one and have a thick wallet. I have seen scruffy ones at larger swap meets for around $1500 but that doesn't include the bumper, spare tire shelf, etc. The "3124" fender emblems on a 57 set me back a penny or two. If you could find a short wide 59 Apache bed they are all steel and very much along the Cameo lines, an attractive bed.
