I have a new fuse panel for my 59 Apache 1/2 ton and it is real basic thankfully. My new wiring harness came with great instructions and was numbered so a simpleton like me could install it. I keep a fire extinguisher by the toaster to give you an idea about my electrical ability. The new fuse panel is three wires , red, gray and pink. I think the red and pink hook to small screw terminals on the top and bottom of the panel (I am guessing) and the gray has a small female spade connector that goes where?? Then where do the other end of these three wires go. They all three have the female spade connectors. It obviously is power from somewhere? From the batt terminal on the headlamp switch or is it direct wired to where? The manual has no info about the fuse panel. The three wires are about 2 feet long. I love the simplicity of the wiring but without any reference I am stumped. The truck was without any wiring when I got her. Appreciate the help. Ralph

is it the 'factory' one, like this? no screw connections ... repro factory style harness?

the wiring diagram indicates red and pink on the ign sw, gray on the light sw for dashlights, the fuse panel isn't shown on it because it wasn't factory installed unless there was electric options ordered, at least in the earlier years ... power would usually come from the ign sw so that things were turned off when the switch was off ... not sure that helps much!

Yep Bill thats it. Only difference is there are two screws to attach wires, where, on yours the wires pushed on with connectors. Otherwise its a match. Remember I am way over my head with this..... power from the ignition seems reasonable but perhaps no spot left on the switch. Could it be the connectors from the fuse panel pickup the switched power from the extra spade elsewhere? Initially, I thought perhaps the fuse panel was hot all the time to protect all the time, but I am easily fooled. I figured two of these three wires power up the strip terminals on the panel and the third......well .....yep...clueless. But that is the fuse panel I have. Thanks Ralph

Bill, If I knew how to link a photo like you do in your message, I would. Seems like I have to send my photo to a website or link it somehow? Ralph

Wow, that is EXACTLY the sheet I needed. Thanks guys. Wonder why Carter would not send it out with the purchase. I bought it and the new harness from him. Oh well, probobly figured I knew about the sheet and manual as I now do. I am in business now!

By the way Bill, when ever I start frettin over a small restoration issue, I go to your site and marvel at your challenge with that old bus and I calm right down. Very impressive! Ralph
