Hello All been a bit, been kinda busy with stuff.

I replaced my spark plugs satuday morning, I wonder if I used the right plug. I used AC Delco 45, this is what Napa said to use, and this is what came out of it. Anyway I gapped them all, I put them in, ran fine most of the day saturday and then started missing badly. Well last night I checked them all out, and number cylindr was almost as if it hadn;t been gpped at all, the elctorde and the tang were touching. Did I put the wrong Spark plugs in this or did I just goof up and not gap that one> I swear I did. ANyaway its runing fine now with the exception of I need a new vacumn advance, both the ones I had are shot. I have checked the usual sources, anyone else know of someone other than the mail order catalog guys?

Thanks
Birge

You probably gapped it alright, but bent it when you were hunting for the hole.

There might have been a piece of carbon break up & fly around & bend the electrode. AC 45 are fine but I like to use the extended tip plugs on OHV engines.Like 45S. Did the Napa guy look for the vacuum advance unit. It seems like they would list it. There are 3 specialty stores in K.C. but I believe you are near the St. Louis area.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Yeah Just Boaut an Hour South I looked on Nanps Website I will go by there after work. Maybe they have one. If not I guess I can get a one form the mail order guys. I am afraid of the ebayers and there NOS parts just because this is a rubber diaphragm and likely to be cracked or dry rotted.

Thanks for the Wrenchbender
