In the past years I continue to follow the Saga of "Billy Bob." I love reading it as much as anyone. Thank you.

One part of the cleaning process is to put all the nuts and bolts in for a cleaning session. The tumbler. Eastwood sells these things for around $110-200. Last week I was at Harbor Freight and noticed they had one for $55. No shipping charges involved.

What would be the difference in the machines? The Harbor Freight tumbler would save around $50.

TIA

Probably not a whole lot, the Harbor Freight 1 is made in China,
I don't know about the 1 Eastwood sells..But, Eastwood's stuff is pricey...I've got a lot of quality tools, but for occasional use or for a 1 time project the Harbor Freight stuff works just fine..

Sorry, but I have nothing good to say about the junk store, called Harbor Freight. As for Eastwood being pricey, all good tools fall in that category.

I have one from HF and it works as advertized, you need to use the Green Triangle shaped rust cutting media but it works well. A co-worker has a bunch of penny's and nickles that went under the flood waters of Katrina. I brought the tumbler to work and let him use it for a few nights, the coins cam out real clean. At that time we used crushed wal-nut shells we bought at a feed store. This is the same stiff you can use in your cab. blaster.

I went through 3 HF tumblers before I gave up. They were good for about 8 hours each, and a 60 mile round trip. For what I spent on gas and the unit, I could have bought a good one. I still don't have on that works.

So Devin, elaborate, what was it that made three of them no good after 8 hours? Did the motor crap out on them? They are a pretty basic piece of equipment.

I have a Eastwood tumbler, and am pleased with the job it does.
