I am looking at buying a 54 Panel and was wondering what the wheelbase is on these trucks. I have a spare 72 rolling chassis with 5 lug disc brakes already, so it would make a great donor frame for the upgrade

dubie,

All 1/2 ton trucks (3105 is the Panel Truck model number) have the same frame with a wheelbase of 116".

All 1 ton trucks (3805 is the Panel Truck model number) have the same wheelbase of 137".

The track width on the '72 is quite a bit wider than the '54. I've looked at doing the same thing with my first series '55 Suburban, and the track width is what slows me down, that and the '72 is still a very servicable truck...

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
