Does such a thing exist which could be bolted up in the original location?

K10 - I used a 69 mustang master in my 46. I had to build a bracket for it that bolts into the same place as the original. It's kind of an L shaped thing that has a big hole for the new master cylinder on one leg and the other is drilled to match the original holes in the pedal assembly. The biggest problem I had was drilling the big hole for the master cylinder to go through, fortunately a friend had a hole saw for metal. Worked like a charm.

The other thing I had to fab was the push rod. That's pretty easy, I just cut off the eye on the pushrod that came with the new unit, threaded it to mathe the existing one and joined them to gether with a long connecter nut.

I hope this makes sense, I wish I could post a picture but, you see I'm digitally challenged.

Thanks to all. ( I also received 2 emails w/ pix from a couple of well respected bolters. OK , well respected by me anyway ) The single masters are only available as NOS-maybe or rebuilt only-with exchange up front. I'm staying original-ish but I would like to do this. The original shoes with asbestos are still in fine shape!
I stopped by tthe junkyard today and looked at a lot of setups. 41-46 have a LOT of similarities with 47-50 AD's but not as far as MC's go.
It seems the mustang MC is preferred. Any reason why?

I would like to know what the bore size is on the Mustang MC.

K 10 I think the Mustang is prefered because it has a built in proportioning valve. Now I might be wrong and if I am someone will correct me.
I myself have a hard time using a F O R D part on my truck. I am not saying that you should not do it I just wouldn't do it.

The mustang master cylinder is recommended because it has the same bore diameter as the originals, i.e. 1". They are used in conversions up to 59 at least. I am running one on my 58 right now, works great. Matt
