Hey All,

I just received my 4 inch drop from Sid and I am getting ready to put it back in my 47. After doing some reading here, it looks as though most are going with a 3 inch. I know I am going to have to potentially bend the arms down for clearance, but here's my question.

I want the truck low, but as much travel as possible. Love the look of waldo53's truck, maybe an inch shorter, but not sure if I am going to have any issues with such a significant drop. After inspecting my springs, I noticed they are shot. One leaf has two cracked springs in the pack, and the driver's side looks like it was sagging. Any thoughts for replacements? I am leaning towards Eaton's street rod springs which are tapered on the ends, but should I get stock height? one inch drop? reverse eyes? Help!

pplummer; You can't go wrong with Eaton's springs from what I hear. I think I'd go with a 1" drop which would give you 5" total drop. You could go lower if you want to.

Good luck, lets see some pictures too!!

4" of drop is really quite a lot on these old trucks. I think you probably want to go with stock ride height springs to maintain your travel without bottoming out the tires in the fenders.
