I'm not buying the truck for the windows, and I plan to fill them in but I had never heard of these "options" before. I suspect that the dealer back then had an opportunity to sell the windows as accessories back in the day, but I'm wondering if there is anything to this story of a "rare" add-on window option...?

The seller again mentioned how rare the "factory" extra side windows were. I looked real close at one of the windows, and stenciled down in the lower right corner were the words, "FoMoCo". I didn't say anything... I bought the truck, loaded it up and headed home. The gentleman and his friends who helped load everything were real nice and I believe, very sincere. But it just shows that you can't believe everything that you're told--and to check things out.
He also handed me an incorrect title. The numbers didn't match the truck. He was flustered and went back to his house and dug through some stuff for a while and finally found the right title.
I had no issues on the way home...(250 mile drive-one way)

Were the OEM windshields that you have seen been marked L-O-F (Libbey-Owns-Ford, which has been owned by Pilkington since 1985), FoMoCo (Ford Motor Company), or Ford Glass Company (maybe the Edward Ford Plate Glass Company, which became the "F" in L-O-F around 1930)?
My 1950's glass is usually marked L-O-F (I guess this was the marking L-O-F put on OEM GM glass at that time).

However, it is interesting that the L-O-F Ford (John Baptiste Ford) started PPG, and later left PPG to form the Ford Glass Company (not related to FoMoCo). Ford Glass Company merged with Libbey-Owens Glass to form L-O-F. L-O-F was much later bought by Pilkington Glass. | | |
