Hey all been a wild winter for me haven't been able to work on my truck till now and have some questions. Has anyone ever mounted one of those frame mounted gas tanks from like...LMC on a 1960 C10 (longbox) All the tanks I've seen in catalogs it's always 1963-1966. So why wouldn't this work for a 60-62? My last question is has anyone ever made a Custom tank for this year and if so could I get some instruction??? Thanks all! -Danny

Thanks,as always -Danny

I have a '62 and was told by LMC that these models have the X frame which results in a different configuration than the later models, hence the tank you are looking at won't fit. That being said, I have read that these later model tanks will fit, it's just that the mounting hardware won't fit and has to be fabricated. There are a lot of outfits that will build a custom tank for you for $$$$$$$'s, but I have yet to see one in an aftermarket catalog at a decent price. If I ever change mine, (I am currnetly using the original cab mounted tank with fuel injection lines), I will just do some measuring and go to the junk yard for a Blazer tank. But I then have to find a place for the spare, thus that project is on hold.
