I'm building a new box assy. and having a little trouble w/placement of the two middle cross sills ! I find they line up with the holes in the metal strips at 23 1/8" and 50" from the front panel. Although they would not be bolted through the angle strips, as they don't line up . Am I on the right track ? My cross sills have no holes drilled in them so it makes it a little harder to figure out . Thanks for any help ,Mark

On a 47-51 1st short step you should have cross sills at the following locations:
One at the 1st hole in the bed strips
One at the 3rd hole in the bed strips
One at the 5th hole in the bed strips
A rear cross sill at the back.
The angles are offset 7/8" to 1" to the rear of the truck
The 4th hole back (on the angle) does not line up with the bed strips.
Hope this helps.
