I have a good 57 three speed od. transmission that a guy wants to buy for his 55 cameo. Don't know what to ask for it. Any one have a ball park price that I should ask ?

I paid $200 for mine at the Auto Fair last year. I felt like it was a little high, but it was better than the first guy I tried haggling with.

Its whatever you feel comfortable charging him for it.

Couple a years ago, I gave $150 for two of 'em, one did'nt work but had some good parts. I'd give ya $150 for it now, depending on shape, but the shipping would eat me up. I like 'em but they are kinda weak if dogged on.

They usually run from $150 to $200 on ebay, but the freight is usually about that too. A couple of weeks ago there was one on Ebay that was supposed to have come from a corvette; I think it went over $400.

$100-150 is the average around here.
BTW, that one on E-Bay is full of it, the overdrive was never offered on a Corvette.

I figure these transmissions are going to keep appreciating in value, given that they don't make spare parts and gas prices are getting higher.
