Im running a stock 235 and a 3/4 ton rear converted to 4.10. I will never be hauling or towing anything in this truck; it wiil be a daily driver and spend a lot of time on the highway. I am considering a S10 tranny with 3.76 first and a .72 overdrive. This should put me at a little under 2200 rmp @ 70 with my 31.7 inch tall tires. I was wondering if there are any ratios that I should stay away from, besides an .86 overdrive unit? Which ones will give me a good balance between take-off and high way speeds? | | |

Just be sure it is from a truck, S10 or Isuzu so that the shift tower is in the most forward position. The cars have the shift tower toward the end of the tail shaft (between the bucket seats). They work but interfere with bench seats.
Look at the speedo drive. 82-88's are mechanical. 89-95's are electronic.
