What am I doing wrong with pictures? I put the exact same link (URL) in the Instant UBB Code dialog box and nothing displays in the message (no picture, no address or odd letters, and no error message). I inserted the same address/URL into the message and the link shows up fine.

Wendell is usually held when we go on vacation to visit our families in VA. One year I hope to go to the Wendell gathering. The 261 challenge race should be interesting - will you be participating?
I am going to miss reading the annual Wendell story in Pickups and Panels in Print.
Sure is a nice family of engines you posted. What's the story about the coil in the 216?

It sure does need TLC. 1945 GMC 308 6 cly gas engine After posting this, I went out and searched again I finally found a place in Spokane Washington that will rebuild this engine and soon as it is done I will post another picture for all to see. This is so cool.

The 216 coil? I wanted to pull the distributor, so I just twisted the coil around for clearance.

The engine is now in my '52 GMC 1/2ton LB. Drove the truck for the first time yesterday to work and back. With the M-420 4 speed and the 3:54 Dana 60 rearend, the engine seems real happy even at 60 mph. I need to get some pics of the engine in the truck but here are some for now.......... That's just great. Nice job. Also curious about the oil filter conversion. I like the look and it's clean but it looks like it's not plumbed up yet?? I looked around found that I don't have any recent photos of my motor. It's still unrestored, but I have cleaned up the motor compartment quite a bit since this photo was take, but basically, it still looks the same except for hoses, wires, etc. Original 228 | | |

You're right, the '54 suburban is Mariner Blue with Pulsar Gray interior. PPG was able to match all colors (including Thistle Gray for inner grill bars, Anvil Gray for bumpers, and Maroon for seat frames and side panel frames). Can't wait to drive it again.

I like having it down low as the generator sort of hides the filter adapter and reaching the filter for oil changes is still easy. Nice shot of the 228. I assume that this gem lives in the Huckster? Anyone else have more GMC's?????????????? A very enjoyable topic!!!!!!!!! Pictures speak a thousand words.
