Does anybody have a picture of a 1953 radio or the previous years that will fit so that I know what I'm looking for. Thanks.

I tried that first, but after 15 minutes of trying to go through 40,000 pages each time and revising the search, I thought I might ask y'all.

Here are couple of photos from eBay listings:

1950-1952 truck radio - photo from aservice manual

There were some differences in knobs, speaker grills, etc between 47-53. Maybe some with more knowledge will describe the differences.

Here is a picture from the "old Chevy manuals" site:

http://chevy.tocmp.com/radios/51rs38.htm

If you click on my profile for the gallery entry, you will see four of them at the bottom of the page. They come in two varieties, ones with the back cover that has a slanted profile on the sides "slant back", and one that has a straight seam. They both fit 1947 to 1953.
