Anyway, here is a picture of my radio if anyone has any info. I believe Longbox55 was the only one who responded to my last post and he didn't know what I was talking about. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | jdl, your post was in the general section, not here. I questioned you where "ATR" came from and you responded that it was written on the radio. I have done some searching but I have not come up with any answers.

Someone came up with an add when I asked in another post I had but it was a video so I couldn't watch it. | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 313 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 313 | I noticed the CONLRAD (CIVIL DEFENSE) markings on the dial. That would date your radio between 1955 and 1963. | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the fact that the radio is hung under the dash rather than mounted in the correct location would indicate right away that it's not original .... ATR is a Japanese company, might have been obtained at a scrap yard from an old import
if it works use it, if it doesn't scrap it

I've also seen an advertisement in an older popular mechanics selling those units as aftermarket 'universal mount' am radios "for your car, truck, or boat." | | |
