I had made a post on here about an ATR radio and it seems to have been deleted. Anyway, here is a picture of my radio if anyone has any info. I believe Longbox55 was the only one who responded to my last post and he didn't know what I was talking about.

jdl,
your post was in the general section, not here. I questioned you where "ATR" came from and you responded that it was written on the radio. I have done some searching but I have not come up with any answers.

OH, thanks. Someone came up with an add when I asked in another post I had but it was a video so I couldn't watch it.

I noticed the CONLRAD (CIVIL DEFENSE) markings on the dial. That would date your radio between 1955 and 1963.

the fact that the radio is hung under the dash rather than mounted in the correct location would indicate right away that it's not original .... ATR is a Japanese company, might have been obtained at a scrap yard from an old import

if it works use it, if it doesn't scrap it

I knew that, but wanted to know more about it.

I've seen many of those exact radios with different brand names on them over the years. I've also seen an advertisement in an older popular mechanics selling those units as aftermarket 'universal mount' am radios "for your car, truck, or boat."
