I started with 1000 to 1200,1500 and finally 2000. I got the 3M polishing compound and start polishing. WOW was looking good! SO I put on the chrome, glovebox and installed my refurbish gauges and here also. Then I see, OMG and after a few choice words ,calmed down and said I'll just wetsand the chip and touch up with a brush. Don't cha just hate something like that? Everyone who takes pride in what they do goes through the same thing... they only see the "mistakes".
Beings how that's a non-metallic color, I'd mask off the cluster and use a touch-up gun and spray. If you still have the same paint, it should blend in perfectly with a little wetsanding and polishing. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 1,703 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 1,703 | Dan , I FEEL YOUR PAIN ! ...i spent a weekend on my dash only to get 3 good deep gouges bought a 1/4" long right above my frenched gauge cluster after a pc of scrap Tin i had layin on the roof slid off an crashed on the dash when the window was out ...i still look at it with a Grone ! !!!..will fix it soon .
