GM tells me my 1948 1 ton was paint code 830 - Commercial Blue for which the Dulux paint code is DU-245. Unfortunately my usual paint supplier can't find a mathch anywhere. Does anyone have other manufacturer's codes for this paint? My firewall still has the blue; it's a medium blue, not too light and definitely not a navy blue. Could it be a north of 60 version of "Mariner Blue?Deep blue sky comes to mind. By the way, original cab interior is grey.

I have had no luck finding chips or codes for Canadian trucks. The color on the firewall in the following picture is original paint and according to my resto pak from GM Canada it is called #237 - Airway blue.

If you want a resto pak for your truck here's how:

Thanks Curt. I have the Resto Pak from GM, that's where the #830 "Commercial Blue" came from. From the scraps I can see on my firewall mine looks a whole lot darker than your Airway Blue. I called GM again and they have nothing to add but they suggested Ken McGee, an autolit vendor from Goderich Ont. Turned out Ken has a GM paint chip sheet from '48 with my blue on it as well as some additional paint codes. For $5.00 I should have it in a couple of days. Thanks again Curt...nice pic of your engine compartment.

I received the paint chip sheet from Ken McGee, "General Motors of Canada Ltd 1948 standard colours". This sheet provided GM codes as well as codes for Opex O-K Lacquer and Fleet-X Spraying Enamel. For future Canadian colour postings here is what is on it:
Commercial Green Code 832
Commercial Maroon Code 833
Commercial Oshawa Blue Code 834
Commercial cream Code 835
Commercial Blue Code 830

These "Commercial" colours seem to also be on a 1941 sheet.
