using a body hammer and heavy metal dolly? going slow others said use a little heat like from a propane torch to heat the area up alittle thoughts? id like to do as much of the body work as i can do to save money will not be a "show" truck but a daily driver | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 | I've heard to use dry ice, but I have never had the dimples to try it on. I am guessing that it would shrink the metal exposed to it, making the dent pop out on it's own. I am sure you will get better ideas than this one, but it's a thought. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 | I always used a torch, body file & a fine touch. It takes a lot of practice to do & not screw things up. I'd recommend taking it to a pro. I've heard of people using dry ice but I never tried it or watch someone do it with dry ice.

Wait another few weeks for it to warm up to 90+ and take some ice out of the freezer, hold the ice in you hand above the dent and let it drip onto the dent a few times and it should 'POP' out! If it does not work completely allow the metal to heat up again (maybe retry when the temp is actually warm such as 100+) and use dry ice (actually place a small, dime or less sized, piece on the center of each dent). Always be careful handling dry ice as you can easily get frost bite! Wear gloves! Have done this many times and MOST of the time it works well. Good Luck, Gator >|--|~ | | |
