Hello all,

I must be crazy because I'm think about looking at (buying) a 1959 3/4 ton longbed all original, that I saw in the paper today. It's raining here so I've got a few days to make up my mind.

Before I take the plunge I was hoping the experts would chime in on what to look for, potential problems, rust prone areas, ect.

Thanks in advance

These are prone to serious rust around the lower door hinges. Check the bottoms of the front fenders, bottom of doors, & cab corners. It probably is pretty rust free comeing from your area. These trucks are great fun & good work horses. We want you in our website family. Look it over good mechanically. I,ve never found one yet that didn,t need a lot of work, regardless what the owner says. If you can do most of the work yourself it is fun & rewarding. If you have to take it to commercial shops you better ad figures together before you get it. You can get a lot of advice & help on this website. A 3/4 ton is not much good on the highway without modifications.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
