My VIN begins with AJEA72xxx which won't decode in any of the VIN tools I can find. Everything on my truck was olive drab as it's first layer of paint which leads me to think that it was a military truck. Does anyone have a place to point me to get more information about the VIN decode? I have a '51 GMC 640 that has a brass plaque on the driver inside kick panel that denotes it's original buyer was the Dept. of the Navy. There should be some official Vin tag somewhere in the truck. Look for holes for the missing tag. Some one else here at the bolt can probably point you in the right direction.

If it was military there was probably a tag on the glovebox door.
