MII, power steering, origninal steering gear? Just about any old steering column can be fabricated to fit in the truck. I put an S-10 tilt in my 53. You just need to figure out where the column will exit the cab, I moved mine over to line up with the Nova rear steer sub-frame. Only needed one joint. I have mustang II kit from TCI. Will be installing sometime in May or June. I guess from what you explained, this column is a good candidate. Sounds like if I concentrate on clearance & alignment in as straight a line to the the mustang II power steering rack I should be ok.
Does the column have to be Tilt? The reason I asked is because I already have a real nice column from a 91 Astro that is not Tilt?

You will find it difficult making the shaft a straight line to the MII. I have seen the shaft run through the firewall at about 2 inches below the original hole which allows the shaft to be almost straight to the MII steering box.
I am assuming you will replace the 216 with a SBC.
