I need advice and guidance in obtaining door widow channel for my truck. When I bought the truck, only the left door had a channel. The one with my truck had a sheet metal guide on one end. This guide is triangular shaped and is "pressed" and turned up on the edges. On the other end was an "L" bracket that has been rivoted on the channel and also brazed. I guessed that the original end came loose and someone attached the "L" brace to made do. I saw one on ebay that only had the sheet metal piece on one end. I have tried ordering from chevy parts catalog. Obsolete Chevy Parts Company lists one but clearly states that you need a double arm type regulator. I placed and order and received a channel that is 2 inches longer but there are no end pieces. The channel is identical to my original and I can make it work. But I need advice on the end pieces. Are there one or two? Are there sources for these? I have contacted a couple of ebay sellers who are parting out a 36 but they never seem to have this item. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the 'bolt Hudson. I can't help answer your question but I can point you to some additional help. The Vintage Chevrolet Club of America is a group of folks dedicated to the preservation and original restoration of old Chevys. Some of their members are members here too but a lot aren't. You might post your querry there as well. They won't help much if you're asking hotrod questions but are another excellent resource for restoration type questions. Between the 'bolt and the VCCA you should get the answers you need. Good luck.

The folks at the VCCA are probably the best source on the planet for exact details of old Chevrolets. They have been very good to me. My excuse is that my GMC is Canadian and everything but the front sheet metal is pure Chevrolet.
