I havent seen any aftermarket ifs that seem to be stout enough. That means swapping in a later ifs from a C-20 (not sure if I can get it to fit so the truck sets the way I want) or go with new leaf springs and a new dropped axle that will accept the alcoa type rims. I have some concerns with making that combo handle correctly but millions of over-the-road trucks seem to make it work. I'd really like to hear from anyone who has stayed with the straight axle and has put some serious loaded miles on it.

Chrysler motor sitting on top of it. So far it handles good, doesn't wear tires and tracks straight down the road. You have to have the axle aligned when you get finished with the job, or it won't drive good.
