hey guys,

ive got a 53 1/2 ton w/ a 3 speed. im 'obtaining' a rear end from a 61 impala from a friend of mine and would like to put it in the car along w/ converting it to 4 link. my main concern is, i know ill have to get a new driveshaft made. but, will i be able to use my stock 3 speed transmission. i would love to be able to keep it at all possible. im just new to the 'torque tube' and not familiar with it at all.
ive tried searching, but it comes up with 20 pages of random threads when i do so i figured i would ask.

thanks, and love the site.

The torque tube transmission will not work with an open drive rear end. You could use a transmission and drive shaft from from a 55-59 truck or 55-57 car.
