Saturday I got to work in the garage for a while and now have my Offenhauser 3X intake and my 3 Carter/Weber progressive 2 barrels installed. I did end up having to cut my firewall to make the back carb clear but it's not too bad and I'm gonna fab a box up to go in that space when I do my firewall cleanup here soon. I still need to do some tweaking on the linkage and the fuel lines (Not installed in these pics) But I got to fire it last night about 10 and it sounds great. It wouldn't idle so I need to make some adjustments but I think it's gonna be pretty mean when I get it all wrapped up.

O' and for the guys who don't know me this is in my 53' Chevy pickup with a 235/T5 combo and an open rear end.

Great Pictures KC , what are those huge carbs?

It looks a similar setup to that which was on my McGurk tricarb but it had the old Rochester B carbs on . (and no hole in the bulkhead )

Looking good KC! Those are good looking carbs, what are you using for air cleaners? 3 singles or are you going to make a single log? What do you use for mufflers on your dual set-up? Nice truck. Cosmo

They're a Carter/Weber Progressive 2 Barrel from Langdons Stovebolt. Yeah I tried to avoid the hole in the firewall by removing the electric choke from the rear carb and reworking the linkage so it was smaller but it just wouldn't clear.

Several of my buddies (and I'm sure some guys on here too) will give me trouble about cuting the firewall but I was very carefull to cut it out so that it could be welded back in easily if I ever decide to go back all stock (not likely at this point).

Not sure on the aircleaner yet, prob will end up being some kinda log, although I'd love to modify 3 old oil baths to put on it but the back one would have to be flat on one side.
My exhaust manifold is an early Kansas customs stock manifold split and I'm running Flowmaster 40's for mufflers.

Looking good, Mongo. There's just no getting around cutting the firewall for triple carbs unless they're sidedrafts. Looks like you have manifold heat, I think. Also, on the choke, on my friends truck with duals he only has one choke connected. It's a little cold-blooded, but not bad.

Ok, so last night my buddy Rick came over to help me do the final tweaks so we could get the truck out for a testdrive with the new carbs. Turns out it wouldn't idle because of 2 vacumn leaks I hadn't notice the night before (it was dark and I was sleepy) we plugged those up and it idled out nice but a little fast. Turned all the idles back 1/4 turn and adjusted the linkage on one carb that was not bottomed out and hit the road. With the 3X it's like a night and day difference!! More power, rev's faster and cooks right on down the road. I got rolling scratch on accident pulling out at one point! Over all it's a huge change I'd recommend to anybody running an inline.
Today I ordered the HEI from the Stovebolt company, it should be in friday or so more info (if anyone cares) once I get it installed.
