Hi,I am looking at a pair of running boards from a 1939 chev pickup and I have been told that the running boards from 1939 to 1946 are all the same. I am not so sure. Any info is appreciated.
thanks

I think the 39 running boards are wider to accommodate the wider rear fender. A good way to tell would be look in a vendors catalog like Jim Carters and see if the 39 running boards have the same part # as the 41-46.

39 and 40 running boards are the same. 41-46 running boards are different from 39-40. The splash apron is different from 39- 40 to accomodade for the wider fenders (39). I believe the 39 splash aprons are a 1 year only part, where the 1940 spash aprons are likely to interchange with the 41-46 years.

41-46 runningboards are 1 1/2 inch longer than 39-40 runningboards.
