#37896 01/23/2004 5:56 PM | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 297 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 297 | If i were to change rearends in my 54 1/2 ton, and keep my 235 motor, what would i be looking for that would be the simpliest to drop in. i know i have to ditch the torque tube but what else am i looking at? is it cheaper to just buy the conversion kits for the existing rearend?. all i am looking for is daily driver stuff but be able to run the speed limit out on the highways and byways.

Looked like that was easy except for new shock mounts on the frame. But he also put in a later sm420 trans and built a drive shaft.
