I just got a 82 GMC Semi it has a 8.2 Diesal V-8 & a 5 speed trans, With a 2 speed rear end & 22.5 tires.
I dint see where it says the model any where, On the dash it says sierra, This is wrong? It has a 5th wheel on it.
I want to pull a 10 Ton trailer with it & need a pintel hook put on it. How high should the hook be off the ground?
The trailer is 400 mile from me so i cant go there with my tape.
Trailer has 2 axel, Duals & above deck.
Then it needs the brake controler hook up, 7 Connector plug.
Some of these wiring thing are done & some have been cut off.
will have to start over. older truck dint come with the tow package.
Have to make brackets for the pintel hook.

do you have a specific model of trailer? Different trailers have different hitch heights. You might want to check out www.steelsoldiers.com for information on pintle hitches. There are some really good guys over there with good info on how to build your hitch plate, height, etc... If you have a receiver hitch you could just get an adjustable pintle plate.
Good luck.
