I have all the suspension out and am ready to locate a position for the booster and replace all the old lines w/new. I'm aware that it will require a little customization, cutting and bending of the lines to connect the new remote booster and the proportioning valve with the new prebent lines. I have found 2 places(LMC and Jim Carter) that carry the prebent lines. Jim Carter has a better price. They are available in stainless or OEM steel. Any experienced knowledge or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 | Don't waste your time or money on the prebent lines... you will end up cutting, flaring and bending them to fit any way. Get the lines from a quality parts house.
I put the CPP kit on my 59... I know it is a solid axle and not a torsion bar setup. That CPP kit required a lot of refiguring and an extra week to install on my 59. Hope it works out better on the 62.

I've been following that post and am ready to deal with problems. I have a "complete" kit for my 62 that is supposed to work with my stock suspension parts. Hopefully, I'll have fewer problems, I guess we will see. Right now it's replacing the brake lines and locating the remote booster that I'm focusing on. I've bought a few ill-fitting repro parts in the past and am worried about the fit of the pre-bent lines. I'll probably follow John's advice, but more suggestions are welcome and everything will be considered. Thanks again. | | |
