Just bought a P/U tank under the foolish belief that all were interchangeable. Much to my chagrin, as probably everyone else on this site knows, they're not. (What I bought appears to go underneath a bench seat. What I need rides under the bed on the passenger side forward of the rear spring, shorter and deeper than the standard pickup tank.)
So: Can anyone tell me what years (or what sources) offer a compatible tank (not necessarily precisely identical, but that would be nice)?
Thanks.

Hey Will, I just lucked out and found one on Ebay for my 46 Burb.

I will have the burb home in several weeks.

The bottom was ripped out of my old tank but every thing else is still there.

I understand that the later model tanks are the same except for the location of the opening location into the tank.

Get back with me in about 3 weeks and I will know more when I get the truck home.

Somebody responded here with a PM offering a hopefully compatible later model tank, and I've lost the contact thread. You still out there?

The original tank is (roughly) 24X13X13, sits inside the frame on the right side, with the inlet on the upper right side about 7 inches from the rear.

Tnx.
