Any ideas, other than rechroming my brightwork, to make my chrome look better. I have areas that are dull and areas that have rust pitts and I briefly tried with a chrome cleaner and it worked fair. Any suggestions would be great.

I've used #0000 steel wool, brass toothbrushes and WD-40 or wax as a lube. Then follow up with a wax and clean with some window cleaner. But once the chrome is gone, it can only be brought back with a rechrome.
