Hi guys. What are the differences between the first and second series in the 1955 Chevy 6400? Are the fenders different? I'm a little bit new to old trucks. Thanks for your help.

Hy GAOsborn, the 55 1st series looks like the 47-54 series, the 55 2nd series looks like the 55-57 series, their frames and body parts have no interchanges that I'm aware of, hope that helps.

Okay - one more question. When I was trying to identify whether mine is first or second series, I looked in the gallery here on Stovebolt and found this truck listed under the first series trucks. The fenders are the same as the ones on my truck, whereas the fenders on the '54 are different.

Although this says it is a first series, is it actually a second series? It has the recessed headlights like the '56. I just want to make sure I don't buy the wrong fenders. Thanks for your help!

I couldn't help but notice that my link was up there. Yeah, they classified my truck wrong, but I did classify it right in the story I wrote.

I guess I should request them to change it...sorry.
