Been trying to figure out, with no luck. My 1960 GMC 1000 has a v6. Someone put a small holley single barrel on it( I have no idea of it's number-has float bowl in front), but that isn't really working well. Can some one tell me what is the proper carburetor for this truck? Also, what was this v6 called? Ie: displacement?
Thank you for your input!

The carburator for the V-6 was a Stromburg two barrel. I don't remember the model, the 6066 pages have all the info on them plus setting a V-6 up with the correct manifold for a 4 barrel Holley. The 6 in your pickup is a 305 CID and could be an E model, our 64 had an e and our 61 two ton has a 305 C, I don't know if letter changes accured in these years or not the C was for the big trucks at that time.

Thanks for the lead. i found that in 1960:
305 A had a Holley 1904
305 B had a Zenith 228BV12
305 C had a Bendix Stromburg WW2
Now how do I find which motor I have? A,B,or C?

Check the engine code on the pad at the front of the engine.

Check out 6066 gmc (google search), Jolly Goodfellow's site, has LOts of info on GMC V6. That little carb on those early engines is a real choker. Might want to see if a 305E mainifold will fit it, I put a 210 1/2 quadrajet (off a 301 Pontiac) on my 64, it purrs like a kitten. The manifold (305e) is a choker for it also, but that pontiac engine was not a big breather either. Check out their HEI conversion. Mine runs as good as a late model, no raw fuel smell, missing, ect with the modern carb (elec choke) and HEI. Well worth the trouble. You will pick up 15 hp with better breathing, might need bigger pipes, Mine is just "regular old exhaust" might put duals on one day.
