I have a 1941 Chevy pickup .. (actually I have two of them)

One of them is dripping gas at the fuel shut-off valve at the bottom of the gas tank.

Does anyone know the specs for a replacement valve? And where to order one?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Could be as simple as taking it apart & putting an O-ring in it, IF they have them...Joe

Any hardware store should have replacement valves. The valve (petcock) in mine had a 4" extension that ran though the floor and into the tank. I substuted a 4" brass nipple & 90° petcock with NPT x compression fittings. I tried taking the guts out of the new petcock & using them in the old valve but it wouldn't work right.

I have repaired several similar valves by first loosening the stem packing nut, screw the valve part all the way out (with nut too), then remove the old packing from inside nut, and replace with one or two small appropriately sized O-rings, reassemble, and snug the packing nut just enough to put some resistance on the valve and stop the leak, but not so tight you can't move the valve.
