Has anyone ever installed a power steering pump on a 235 engine?

To the best of my knowledge there is no kit available. You would need a double crank pulley which are scarce and fabricate the pump brackets. Another option would be to get the generator/pump assy that was used on 55 to about 59 passenger cars.

yes, mounted it on top of the generator and ran it with a small belt on a second grove on the generator.
there is a picture on my link below, then in the Chevy axle upgrade folder.

other option is to find the double grove pulley as used when the engine had an air compressor in a big truck. (one of those for sale in the latest issue of the ATHS magazine, compressor and all)

I hear you can have a balancer and pulley built with two belt groves, I forget by who, but recently read it on this site, perhaps "Dampener Doctor" or a similar name??

Other option is driven off the back of the generator as the mid 50's cars had. Can be expensive, not my first choice.

I can tell what I did and that it has been working for the last year with no problem. I eliminated the stock fan blade and replaced it with pusher electric fan mounted in front of the radiator. I stacked another water pump pully over the stock pully to give me a double waterpump pully. I used a late 70's pontiac, as it was large enough to stack over the stock one to place the grooves side by side( about 1/4 inch apart). I only had to enlarge the center hole in the new pully to fit the existing shaft. The additional pully is only slighty larger than the stock one. I fabricated a bracket using two of the bolts off the waterpump and another off the block to mount the power steering pump above the alternator and at the same level as the waterpump.I used an adjusting turnbuckle between the alternator bracket below and the front of the powersteering pump for belt tension adjustment with the stock style locking bolt behind the pump. I found the correct size v belt to allow for replacement and adjustment. Universal hoses from this pump powers the 800 series unit mounted on the frame. Like I say , it's been working for a year with no problems. Not as elegant as some but inexpensive and I did it in my own garage.
