A new forum for new guys!! We wanted to create a nice, warm friendly place for the new guys to stop in and introduce themselves and their trucks, ask questions about the site and generally get oriented before heading out into the wooly world of "Fort Stovebolt" -- The Old Truck Hobby's defense against Far Eastern Scrap Metal buyers smile

Okay, so maybe we're just a bunch of old truck crazies -- but if you're here and reading this, guess what? You're one of us, too!! So relax, you're among friends!

The Old Guys (folks who have been around Stovebolt.com longer than a month) will welcome you and help you get oriented.

This ain't boot camp -- there are no yellow footprints. And we won't yell at you.

We're happy to have you here! Now make yourself at home (you ARE home!) and tell us how we can help you!

Regards and welcome!

Drew -- Yep! smile

Bill -- Darn tooting! grin The funny thing is that I spelled it that way unintentionally and then decided to leave it. Having gone through primary school and 1st year of high school dans la belle province, I learned to spell that way. And now, all these years later, I still do and have to make a conscious effort to spell the "er" words the American way. Makes for funny little personal nostalgia moments throughout the day.

That's why Whizzerick and I are like long-lost brothers wink

Well, I made it in all caps since when I was inspired (by our local Welcome Center), it was in all caps.

So, maybe we are yellin' so folks will know it's here. But it looks like we've got a nice batch of people using it already. So, me thinks it'll work.

John,

It's been a "good idea" for a long time. Took a while to materialize!!

But yeah, it sure does seem to be working right!

Hello all. I'm sorry if I overlooked a help menu or instructions somewhere. Can anyone tell me how to attach photos? This is a really cool and helpful site, but I can communicate my issues a little better with pictures.

Thanks Red58. The link to posting pictures is just the right place to go. Armarshr, here is directions that I have used to help Stovebolters in the past. See if this helps after reading the "drill for linking pictures" that red58 sent you. .........................................................................................................................................
After taking your pictures, you have to down load the images to a
host. That would be Webshots, VillagePhoto, or any other hosting that
you might already have. Once you get them downloaded, they will show
you a HTTP. If should end with a jpg. Here is an example

You will have something like this:
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-1/95040/workingtruck.jpg

Now to make a link, you will have to put in front of your
http , then put this at the very end.
You should have something like this

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-1/95040/workingtruck.jpg

Do not skip any spaces. That long [url thing is what will tell the
computer where your image is and by clicking on "My truck" , it will
take the viewers right to it. We want only links as posting pictures
in your post will take up too much room and some slow computers will
freeze up. I hope this has helped and please practice in your post.
After writing you post , click on 'Preview Post. If you see something
like "MY TRUCK" or what ever you titled the picture, it should show
up, Click on it and it should show the picture of your truck at the
web site you hosted it in the first place. Try it. If it doesn't
work, look very close as just one little thing can make it not work.
It must be exact. Good luck.
